AnyDroid Overview. At oneHOWTO we want to show you what should be done if you're asking yourself: what to do if my tablet freezes. The simplest answer to what to do if my tablet freezes is to press and hold the "off" key, until you get the device to turn off so that you can turn it back on again and use it normally. In the event that this option doesn't solve the situation of your frozen tablet you must use the " reset" button.
Its size will prevent you from operating it with your finger, so use an accessory that has a small tip, such as a clip. Push it in until you feel the bottom and then press and remove the clip quickly. Your tablet will restart. Then, a system message will appear on the screen asking for confirmation to turn off the tablet. You must accept. If your tablet is an iPad and freezes you can use the option of pressing the round start button at the bottom of the screen, along with the off key.
It is important that you press the two keys at the same time, otherwise it will not work. If only an iPad program has frozen, only press the start button, then press the same button again 2 times, locate the program by browsing horizontally and when you're in it, drag it up to close. If your tablet has frozen and the screen has gone completely black, there is another solution, though you should be very careful not to break the tablet when trying it.
In the event that none of the proposed solutions work for your frozen tablet you must be patient and wait until the battery runs out and for it to turn off automatically. It is recommended that you do not fill your tablet with lots of applications, especially if the device does not have a lot of memory; this way you will reduce the crashes that your tablet has.

For a while it has had a virus, I knew by the way it would constantly shut off and all of my apps would crash.
I successfully at least i thought so factory rebooted erasing everything from my tablet believing everything will be okay now, so i have been told BUT my tablet freezes even faster than it did before the reboot. If I open ANY of my apps or settings it immediately freezes up and restarts itself before I can do anything. Plus it seems to only be triggered when connected to the internet. Is there something I can do to fix this or am I out of luck??? And again yes, I have hard rebooted; factory rebooted either or I have done it already multiple times.
Apr 6, 25, , 13, I would still check the device for viruses and malware. So you "Hard Reset" a reboot is just turning off and back on the tablet, which wipes everything from the device, even the OS, and then allowed it reinstall itself? If that is the case, and then you redownloaded and installed any apps, then one of them would be the problem.
If it is software that is at issue, then starting up the tablet in "Safe Mode" should allow for it to stay loaded and not reboot. Granted in that mode you can't access most apps, it is a restricted mode, but if it works fine in it, then you need to get rid of whatever app or item is the cause.
Now if you didn't completely reset it, as stated above, and only did the type of reset that tries to keep some of your stuff on the tablet, then that would not have removed any problem app, virus, etc. In that case you would have to do a true "Hard Reset" to get it back to what it was when it was originally made. Now if you did do the full on "Hard Reset" and the "Safe Mode" either doesn't load or you still have the freezing in that mode, then it may well be a hardware issue and not a software one.
I am including below the info on getting into "Safe Mode" and also the correct "Hard Reset" info. Just in case you didn't do the full erase. To get into "Safe Mode" please do the following.
